Tinggal di rumah sederhana
Warren Buffet merupakan jutawan ketiga terkaya di dunia, namun beliau masih lagi tinggal di rumah yang sama sejak tahun 1957. Rumah tersebut dibeli oleh Warren pada harga US$31,500. Carlos Slim, jutawan dan antara manusia terkaya di dunia masih lagi menetap di rumah yang sama sejak 40 tahun lalu.

Namun medium kenderaan yang dipilih oleh mereka bertiga untuk pergi bekerja adalah menaiki dan menggunakan kenderaan awam. Ada kalanya, mereka juga memilih untuk berjalan kaki sewaktu bertugas.

Beli pakaian di pasar raya
Jutawan seperti David Cheriton (memiliki US$1.3 bilion), Sergey Brin dan Larry Page (pengasas Google) lebih selesa memakai jeans dan kemeja-T sepanjang masa.  Memandu kereta biasa
Jutawan Jim Walton, pengasas Wal-Mart dan memiliki US$21 bilion masih lagi memandu trak buruk yang dimilikinya sejak 15 tahun lepas. Azim Premji (pengasas Wipro Limited dan memiliki US$15 bilion hanya memandu kereta Toyota Corolla. Ingvar Kamprad pula masih lagi memandu kereta Volvo berusia 10 tahun. T

Elak membeli barang mewah
Mungkin anda terkejut mendapat tahu bahawa jutawan seperti Carlo Slim boleh berbelanja sebanyak beratus ribu dolar setiap minit untuk 100 tahun akan datang tanpa perlu bekerja.

Beliau sebenarnya tidak memiliki barang-barang mewah termasuklah jet peribadi, kereta mewah atau pun kapal layar peribadi. Kebanyakan jutawan juga mengelakkan diri daripada memiliki barang-barang mewah. Warren Buffet tidak suka hidup mewah dan pernah berkata, “Barang-barang mewah hanya akan menyusahkan kita di kemudian hari.”
